Necropolitans, episode 76: In his teeth

Jaal and Iris dispute the semantics of spell-targeting, in Episode 076: In his teeth.

The lift incident is an absolute classic of GM and player simply not grasping each others' perceptions of a scene. To me, it took ages to work out what they were trying to do, because it couldn't possibly be "work out how to get to the bottom of this lift shaft complete with working lift". But they had not grasped or not assumed the "working lift" part.

Difficulties of split sessions, as discussed around 0:24 - if half the party have already done several hours' worth of things, narrating as they did that their friends stayed somewhere else, flashing back to the other half of the party and then trying to integrate them is problematic for the GM. Sometimes you can handwave it. Sometimes you really can't and it wouldn't make sense at all.
