Necropolitans, episode 81: Powerful friends from other elemental planes

After defeating the shaitan Bound of Earth, the Necropolitans explore the strange magical binding of the Jistkan bunker, and cast the in-no-way-ominously-named mad sultan's melody, in Episode 081: Powerful magic friends from other elemental planes.

Narratively, the bound entities are extremely powerful outsiders. Mechanically, they're about CR 10-12, which I hoped would be sufficient to prove a challenge for the party when accompanied by allies, but really didn't. The PCs are quite optimized, the players are good at using them effectively, and they can steamroller things pretty effectively by focusing fire and simply ignoring the weaker critters. This remains a problem indefinitely.

"I could potentially replicate it," says Jaal, with no evidence whatsoever to support this assertion. In much the same way that I personally could replicate the moon landing because I did GCSE physics. Ahh, wild overestimation of one's own abilities...

As with other aspects of powerful magic, you simply have to ignore the actual magic rules. If a city-scaled magical binding that's lasted for thousands of years is just supported by a permanency spell, that means anyone who can cast 3rd-level spells can simply swan along and dispel it. That isn't how we want things to work, so you have to decree that it works differently and make up any necessary interactions yourself.
