In episode 90, the party decided to ask their friendly devil contractor to obtain some yliaster to fulfil Jaal's quest. We get a sneak peek behind the scenes of that task, in Episode 090z: Bound of Contracts takes the yliaster.
As a reminder, yliaster is a powerful and rare magical component much sought by wizards. Jaal was tasked with finding some as proof that he was ready to complete his apprenticeship. The party discovered that a shaman living in the swamp near their current location supposedly had some yliaster.
Bound of Contracts, meanwhile, is - as the party appear to have forgotten - an unbelievably powerful supernatural entity of evil legalism, responsible for the contracts binding several similarly-potent entities in order to preserve thousands of people in stasis through millenia, summoned to that end through a pyramid scheme of getting binding lesser devils en masse to summon and bind a single greater devil, repeating ad infinitum, and then going through the whole process several times until the greater devils they had could summon the entity the party know as Bound of Contracts. To my immense satisfaction, they have recast it in their minds as a sort of jobbing devil who does occasional favours for them, and not a great Power now unleashed upon the world and currently engaged in... well, you'll see.
This recording is, like the Seven Chants of Anubis, read by the amazing Greig Johnson (). I was very lucky to be able to get Greig to read it for me and he has once again done a truly incredible job. I apologise to Greig for both the half-decade wait before actually publishing this work, and for the many strange words I forced him to read.
