Juggling lighting effects on virtual tabletop becomes confusing and, ironically, obfuscates everything. We learn that all creatures of the Earth subtype are stoners, and those of the Water subtype extremely wet, in Episode 41: My god, he has business cards!
Apologies for the echoing you can hear in this episode.
Remembering the voices you used is hard enough in any game, and fortnightly or monthly sessions doesn't help. When the game runs for multiple years that gets much harder. I have vague notes on this sort of thing in my NPC spreadsheet nowadays.
We ponder whether phoenixes or gargoyles came first, and whether gargoyles are phoenixes of the ground or phoenixes are gargoyles of flame. I enjoyed the gargoyles, and the elemental beings in general. Implausible business cards is a long-running Thing in our gaming group; it originated with the efforts of (I think) my pipistrelle bat cleric of Nyarlathotep and its awakened animal associates to explain their whole deal to a never-ending stream of confused NPCs.
